He sung this song to console his partner rita marley who was with him since childhood.....she was crying for his ill health.In this song he reminded her of the days past by when they used to live in a slum called trenchtown ....a slum was made in trench..where sewerage of the city of kingston (capital of jamaica)drained...HE want to convey there was time when they lived in a very worse condition and now he was a legend ...people in the world considered him god ,he got so much fame all around..but rita marley u r still crying...and console s her saying that everything is going to be alright...
